2008 - 2009 Season

Auditions announced for the University of West Florida's 2nd Annual production of A Christmas Carol

Auditions for Pensacola's new holiday tradition, the UWF Theatre Department's community production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, will be held in September and October. University students, community members, and children of all ages are encouraged to audition to become a part of the second exciting year of this production. Actors are needed from all age groups and experience levels to complete this large cast of carolers, ghosts, families and townspeople.
Rehearsals for A Christmas Carol begin the first week of November; the production runs December 4th through 14th on the UWF Mainstage.
Auditions for UWF students will be held in the Studio Theatre on Friday, September 5th, from 5:30-9pm. Interested students should sign up for an audition time on the list posted outside the Theatre department office. Auditionees should prepare a short contemporary or classical monologue and a Christmas carol.
Auditions for Pensacola community actors (ages 16 and older) will be held in the Studio Theatre on Saturday, September 6th, from 1pm to 4pm. Community-wide auditions will consist of cold readings from the script - no appointment or prepared monologue is required. Singers may be asked to sing a Christmas carol to show their range.
Callbacks for singing roles, if needed, will be Sunday, September 7th.
Auditions for children and secondary-school students will be through workshops held on Saturday, October 3rd. The workshop-style audition will include a guided warm up, theatre games, improvisation, and some line reading. Dress in comfortable clothes and come ready to play. The audition workshop for elementary-aged children will be from 11 am to 1 pm; Students in sixth grade through age 16 will audition between 2pm and 4pm.
Any questions about auditions for A Christmas Carol should be sent to Director Geoffrey Bleeker at gsbleeker@gmail.com
